FORMAN

HOUSE

The Forman Project was a real challenge. It was a small lot with a small home and there was no outside living space. We needed to utilize every square inch of the property. We first built privacy fencing around the entire lot which then gave us the freedom to create beautiful outside lounging areas. The bonus to the fencing was that it also gave the home a visual charm which was previously missing. Stepping out from the living room you will find yourself bathed in a private front yard oasis. This was achieved through fencing and ficus hedges, as well as lovingly designed planter beds.

As you approach the front door you will see off to the left another courtyard living space. To help us create this location  we introduced an outdoor deck with a bold structural overhang and a beautifully designed, stained, privacy wall. To get to this lovely retreat we placed stepping stones that lead to several meandering, gravel pathways which give you an opportunity to enjoy along the way our lush planter beds as well as the soothing sounds of a bubbling fountain.

Quite often side yards are ignored. We chose decking, high privacy fencing, potted plants and a water element to create a lovely afternoon retreat accessed from the back bedrooms.

The last of our outdoor rooms was created with entertaining in mind. We started with a stone and gravel patio surrounded by a drought tolerant garden. We added privacy fencing and to soften the light above we introduced a graphic wood overhang.
